Three nights, planned an hour at a time
The first night, when you have just arrived. Sunset from a chair on the beach at the end of Soi 7, half past six, for nothing. A night market, which is Tree Town on Soi Buakhao, for a plate of the food the staff eat and the noise of a dozen small bars around a courtyard. Reggae at Trench Town on LK Metro, a lane a minute from us, for one song standing at the back. A band from nine in a cold hall, from a table one row back from the stage, until you are tired. The walk home along Soi Diana at eleven, lit and busy. Four things, a kilometre, no taxi.
The second night, when you want the spectacle. A cabaret show at seven, which is the one thing on this list that needs a ticket and is worth it once. Dinner over the water on the pier off Walking Street, before the strip wakes up. Walking Street itself at ten, walked end to end once, so that you have seen it. A baht bus north on Second Road and off at the Soi 13 turning, and the late set at a stage-side table from midnight, which is the set where the room sings.
The third night, when you know the city. A rooftop on Beach Road at six for the sunset from above. A Thai music bar, which is a different night from the ones built for visitors and is where the staff of every other bar go on their night off. A rock bar on Soi Buakhao until your ears ring. And then back to the counter at the back of the hall, which by the third night is the seat that is, by habit, yours. The Thursday table near it is where the people who did this a hundred times sit.
What the list leaves out, and why
Go-go bars, hostess bars and the daytime soi in North Pattaya are not on this list, and not because they do not exist. They are the reputation, they are a tenth of the city, and they have a thousand pages on the internet already. This site is written from a bar where nobody sits with you uninvited, and the list is the night that bar's regulars actually have: a sunset, a market, a band, a roof, a walk. Soi 6 and Walking Street have their own pages here, written plainly, so you can find them or avoid them.
Beer prices, drinks promotions and the like are not on this list either, because Thai law since November 2025 forbids a bar from advertising them and we are a bar. What a night costs in Pattaya is less than you think and the counter will tell you the number.
The daytime is not on the list, because the page is about the night, but the day matters to it: the islands, the golf, the beach at Jomtien, and the sleep between one and four in the afternoon that a night that ends at two requires. The one thing an hour at the top of the page assumes you slept. Every item has its distance from our counter, because the counter is where the list was written and where, at one in the morning, it ends.
