Closing times from Google's hours, 9 September 2026
The question nobody can answer at half past two, answered from Google's own hours for 360 bars around us: how many close at midnight, at one, at two, at three, at four, and the 111 within a twenty-minute walk of Soi Diana that are still pouring when our counter is. We close at three. Some of these do not.

The rule that makes the map patchy
Thailand's default closing time for bars is 2 AM. Since December 2023 designated nightlife zones in Pattaya have been allowed to serve until 4 AM, and the zones do not follow any line a visitor can see. That is why one bar on a street says 2 and its neighbour says 4, and why the honest answer to "what time do bars close" is a table, not a number.

It's a host bar club, and the atmosphere is very local. I think I'm the only East Asian person there. I think it would be more fun to go with friends rather than alone.

Reggae, ska and two-tone with live singers every night, and a stage you are welcome on if you can hold a tune. The second Trench Town; the original on Soi Buakhao opened in 2017. A minute from our door, so the two are easy to pair.

Our last hour
The band's late set has finished, the stage-side tables have emptied, and the counter is the regulars, the staff wiping down, the football on the screen with the sound off, and whoever has decided the night is not over. It is the quietest hour and, for some people, the best one. Then the lights come up at three and Soi Diana is a warm street with a taxi on it.

Closing times are read from Google's hours for the bars our searches returned within 3.5 km of KQ's pin on 9 September 2026; 124 bars list no hours and are not counted. The zone rule is public policy and we have described it as a visitor experiences it, not as a lawyer would. The complex's own site has a page on what is open tonight, written from the front of the hall.

The big Las Vegas Beer Garden sign, two minutes from LK Metro. Free entry, no ticket, no dress code.
Past Pocket Kings, Palace, the V Bar, Full House, Viva, Aces High, MGN and Black Jack. The music gets louder with every step.
A black disc ringed with bulbs, a gold crown over the K. That's the door. The toilets are just past it, which is why everyone walks by at least once.
